PHOTOGRAMMETRY & 3D MODELING
Photogrammetry & 3D Modeling
As part of my role with the Division for Conservation of Heritage Sites, I had the opportunity to contribute to the documentation and preservation of historical artifacts using photogrammetry techniques. Using high-resolution photography and Agisoft Metashape, I captured images of artifacts from multiple angles and processed them into detailed 3D models.
One of the key benefits of this approach was the creation of a complete photographic record of each artifact from all accessible viewpoints, alongside an accurate 3D digital model. These records can be archived and referred to in the future for research, conservation, monitoring, and documentation purposes without requiring frequent handling of the original objects.
The resulting 3D models provided accurate visual representations of the artifacts and allowed conservators to examine their physical features in greater detail. By combining photography and 3D reconstruction, photogrammetry offered a practical and non-invasive method for documenting cultural heritage and creating long-term digital records.
Through this work, I gained hands-on experience in photogrammetric workflows, digital documentation, and the application of 3D technologies in heritage conservation.
